Wish I was back home in Scotland today. Wish I could express my feelings about this hugely exciting day better.
A No vote is not a vote against a free Scotland. A No vote is indeed, as the media have told you, a vote for certainty. It is a vote in favour of many things. If Scotland decides to vote No on the morning of the 19th, we as a Nation are saying Yes to *everything* we currently have in the UK government.
Yes to privatisation of our public services, Yes to the welfare state being cut to the bone, Yes to fewer benefits for the poorest and least able in society, Yes to the Bedroom tax, Yes to rUK’s student fees, Yes to cuts to the real military while simultaneously funding nuclear submarines we (morally) cannot afford ever to use, Yes to foreign wars, Yes to tax cuts (to the tune of £150,000,000,000 for the 20 richest THIS YEAR ALONE) and Yes to the political apathy that has swamped rUK in the last 20 years.
